June 29, 2021 - PRESS RELEASE: American Jewish Congress Condemns Rep. Paul Gosar for Fundraising with Renowned Antisemite and White Supremacist

We are shocked by reports that Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) is attending a fundraising event organized by Nick Fuentes, a renowned antisemite, white supremacist, Holocaust denier. Just recently, Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) attacked the American Jewish Congress because we stood up for the Jewish community, making it clear that Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene's (R-GA) comments about Jews and the Holocaust were beyond the pale. Now Rep. Gosar is not only shielding those who trivialize the Holocaust but is also raising money from those that openly deny it. This is a new low and Congress must take immediate action. https://twitter.com/AJCongress/status/1409869292737335305

By JACK ROSEN AND DENVER RIGGLEMAN, PRESIDENT OF THE AMERICAN JEWISH CONGRESS, FORMER MEMBER OF CONGRESS The American political system is under attack from far-right extremists and white supremacists. This battle for the democracy and diversity that define America has already spilled into violence and insurrection. May 3, 2021 - “You know what to do.” Gab mobilizes against American Jewish Congress’s Poll

For the past months, we’ve shined a spotlight on the white supremacist and antisemitic threats that metastasize on online platforms like Gab. We’ve looked into how these platforms affect our politics, which is a heightened concern, as elected officials like Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) embrace these platforms to raise money and grow their political power. American Jewish Congress Poll: Voters Reject Politicians Using Gab We then conducted a poll, showing that 44% of Republicans, 86% of Democrats, 52% of Independents, 62% of other & 20% of undecided voters would refuse to vote for a candidate from their party if they used Gab.After we asked our supporters to take this poll to…

April 8, 2021 - American Jewish Congress wears Gab founder Andrew Torba’s recent attacks on us with a badge of honor

Gab founder Andrew Torba attacked an American Jewish Congress report that appropriately described the social media platform as a stage for antisemites, white supremacists, and extremists. Torba specifically targeted us for exposing the efforts of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) to leverage Gab's extremist audience to build political capital by fundraising on the platform. Greene is not only an active user of Gab, but she has raised funds by pandering to these extremists. Just yesterday Greene thanked her Gab followers for helping her raise a staggering $3.2 million in the first three months of 2021.  As we have stated before, the intersection…

April 7, 2021 - Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Gab fundraising haul is a warning shot to American democracy

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), a discredited conspiracy theorist Member of Congress, raised $3.2 million in the first three months of 2021. This was the fifth largest Congressional amount raised so far in 2021, demonstrating her impact in the Republican party. Greene raised these funds by pandering to extremists on Gab, a social media platform favored by neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and supporters of the antisemitic QAnon conspiracy theory movement. According to her campaign and content she just posted to Gab, the average donation size was just $32, with donations from over 100,000 supporters. To shine a light on this gathering…

April 7, 2021 - Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Gift of the Gab Sees Far-Right Social Media Following Flourish

Published originally in Newsweek. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) has fully embraced social media platform Gab for political power and fundraising purposes, bringing mainstream followers onto its extremist platform and mobilizing the extremists already there, the American Jewish Congress (AJ Congress) has claimed. Gab is an alternative social media network that champions free speech, and has attracted neo-Nazis, white supremacists and QAnon conspiracy theorists. QAnon is a disproven and discredited American far-right conspiracy theory alleging that a secret group of Satan-worshipping pedophiles was running a global child sex-trafficking ring. The conspiracy theory alleges the secret cabal looked to remove former President Donald Trump from…

Originally published in the Jewish Telegraphic Agency (JTA). One of the first things Denver Riggleman did after being ousted from Congress was to get back to his love — distilling rye whiskey. Also high on his priority list: joining with a Jewish group to combat the domestic extremism that helped drive him from Congress. Riggleman, whose Virginia district encompassed Charlottesville, joined the American Jewish Congress’ Advisory Board to Counter White Supremacist Terrorism last week. The former Republican lawmaker said his background in intelligence work for the Air Force and the National Security Agency enables him to connect the dots quickly between…
