November 6, 2024, New York, NY – The American Jewish Congress extends its heartfelt congratulations to President Donald J. Trump for winning the 2024 presidential election. Mr. Trump was able to convince American voters with his platform, and this victory reflects the will of the American people.
Throughout his first term, President Trump achieved significant milestones that strengthened and furthered the bonds between the United States and Israel. His administration’s recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and the move of the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem were historic. At the same time, the landmark Abraham Accords, which launched Israel’s normalization with several Arab nations, marked a transformative moment for regional peace. Throughout the 2024 campaign, President Trump has continued to reiterate his strong support for Israel and condemned the rising antisemitism in America. We look forward to working with President Trump’s upcoming administration to build upon these achievements, expand the Abraham Accords, mitigate the regional threats stemming from hostile actors such as Iran and its terrorist proxies, and continue fostering peace and cooperation in the Middle East.
We are proud that the American Jewish Congress’ Jewish Political Guide was, once again during this electoral cycle, the go-to resource for Jewish voters eager to learn more about the candidates, the issues, and the campaigns. From the presidential race to down-ballot elections, Jewish voters throughout the country were able to rely on our critical platform for more informed choices at the ballot box. Jewish votes remain integral to our nation’s democratic fabric and helped make a difference in the electoral results.
After a polarized election, it is important that we now leave behind the labels that separate us, heal our divisions, and unite as Americans to work for a better country and future. We look forward to working with President-elect Trump’s administration and Congress to advance policies that support the Jewish community in America and abroad. Now more than ever, it is critical to maintain the strong bipartisan consensus needed to address the exponential rise of antisemitism throughout the country and to bolster the U.S.-Israel alliance.
