The American Jewish Congress praises Governor Kevin Stitt of Oklahoma for signing a critical legislation against the anti-Israel and anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement.
This important legislation, which was passed by the state legislature with an overwhelming majority, prohibits state authorities from entering into contracts and doing business with companies or organizations that actively boycott Israel. Oklahoma is the 30th state to have passed bipartisan laws against the discriminatory and anti-Semitic BDS movement. Earlier this month, the legislature in Missouri passed a similar bill.
The American Jewish Congress has worked to expose the true and harmful nature of the BDS and urged lawmakers to take concrete steps into combating boycotts against Israel. The recent anti-BDS initiatives in Oklahoma and Missouri show an important momentum against this fundamentally bigoted movement.
