Jack Rosen And American Jewish Congress Reach Out To Leaders In Qatar, The UAE, And Saudi Arabia As The Organization Adjusts To Emerging Opportunities And Challenges.

A lot of things have changed after the Oct. 7 terror attack in Israel: our campuses, Mideast diplomacy, and the narrative war.
A crisis spawns challenges and opportunities. We are dealing with both. And as we begin the 8th week of the war, I want to share with you some of the ideas and actions that we are focusing on as we position ourselves to protect Jewish interests and ensure that Israel has the backing of friends and allies as it goes out to defeat its enemies.
I reached out to our longtime partners in the region. I spoke to Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister of Qatar, as his country positioned itself to mediate the release of Israeli hostages. Days before the attack, I met Adel Al-Jubeir, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia. Daniel Rosen, the Vice Chair at American Jewish Congress, joined me in that meeting. I spoke recently to Ali Rashid Al-Nuaimi, Chairman of the Defense, Interior, and Foreign Affairs Committee in the UAE Federal National Council. Our Middle East representative is in contact with leaders in government and the media across the region.

We face several challenges:
- Surge in Antisemitism.
- Threats To Abraham Accords | Attempts to damage and roll back Abraham Accords by Hamas and Iran.
- Ignoring Israeli Suffering | Countering attempts to trivialize or ignore Israeli suffering after the Oct. 7 attack.
- Ignoring Plight of Israeli Women | Promoting justice for Israeli women who faced sexual violence on Oct. 7 and whose story has been ignored until this week by many women groups and rights activists.
- Demonization of Arab Allies | Bolstering ties with Israel’s new Arab allies as they face a campaign of demonization.
- Defeating Hamas narrative that has apparently won some support from radicals both in the West and in the Middle East.
The divine story of Israel is that of challenges, tribulations, successes, and more challenges. We are confident that Israel will triumph.
This is a war unlike any other. We need to elevate our game as we deal with so much that has changed. We are grateful for your support.
