American Jewish Congress Vice Chair Daniel Rosen with Ambassador Deborah Lipstadt
December 5, 2023, New York, NY – American Jewish Congress Vice Chair Daniel Rosen met last week with Ambassador Deborah Lipstadt, President Biden’s Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism, and expressed his deep concerns about the skyrocketing rise in antisemitism, both at home and abroad, in particular since the October 7 terror attack in Israel by Hamas.
Daniel Rosen praised and thanked Ambassador Lipstadt for her tremendous leadership at this challenging time. Her active role and high-level engagements with American and international leaders are sincerely encouraging and have helped to raise awareness about the plague of Jew-hatred that is threatening the safety and well-being of the Jewish people.
Joining the conversation with Amb. Lipstadt was former Congressman Max Rose, the Co-Chair of American Jewish Congress’ Advisory Board to Combat Domestic Terrorism and White Supremacy. The advisory board has focused on efforts to investigate, analyze, and offer policy prescriptions to stop the cross-national and cross-border cooperation of extremist groups and individuals that endanger minorities and the very fabric of our society.

Daniel Rosen emphasized during the meeting that the spread of antisemitism is metastasizing frighteningly, usually under the pretense of anti-Israel activism. This intensifying wave of antisemitic rhetoric and violent attacks against Jews, whether in our streets, university campuses, or on traditional media and social media platforms, cannot be accepted as the new normal.
The American Jewish Congress looks forward to working with Ambassador Lipstadt and her office, as well as policymakers and influencers across the board, to promote practical solutions that safeguard the Jewish community and counter antisemitism in all its forms.
