Israel’s Prime Minister Took Center-Stage today in the weeklong 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), where several world leaders spoke. Prime Minister Netanyahu delayed his participation twice, not wanting to leave Israel amid war, but reached New York and addressed the UN for the first time since the October 7 invasion and massacre by Hamas.
Israel Won’t Allow Threats To Its Citizens. The Prime Minister was unequivocal: “Far from being lambs led to the slaughter, Israel’s soldiers have fought back with incredible courage and with heroic sacrifice. And I have another message for this assembly and for the world outside this hall: We are winning.”
Our President Daniel Rosen And Chairman Jack Rosen attended Prime Minister Netanyahu’s address. Daniel Rosen and Jack Rosen were among the few leaders of American nongovernmental organizations seen on the floor of the United Nations General Assembly, conversing with world leaders between speeches, and proudly represented the Jewish community in this annual international gathering.
They met Prime Minister Netanyahu after the speech, congratulated him on articulating Israel’s position on the war imposed on the Jewish state. They also met other members of the Prime Minister’s delegation that flew in from Israel, including Sara Netanyahu, and the Israeli Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer.
Netanyahu Introduced Hostage Families to leaders and diplomats joining the UNGA session. This included the family of Mohammad, “a brave Arab Israeli soldier” whose body was taken to Gaza after Hamas murdered him, said the Prime Minister. The families of Idan Shtivi, Jonathan Samerano, Yossi and Eli Sharabi, and Oded Lifshitz.
Israel Is Defending Itself On Seven Fronts, said the Prime Minister in a moving speech that explained the threats facing the West and Arab states if Iranian proxies are not controlled. We list here some of the key points he made, starting with this image of Prime Minister Netanyahu, when he talked about the choices facing the region.

‘Israel Yearns For Peace. Israel Has Made Peace And Will Make Peace Again.’ Prime Minister Netanyahu’s speech was replete with arguments that explain Israel’s positions on the threat it faces and why it is in the interest of the world to support it in this war to secure itself and dismantle terror groups.
Hostages. “Hamas kidnapped 251 people from dozens of different countries. Israel has brought home 154 of them, including 117 who returned alive.”
7 Fronts. “The curse of October 7th began when Hamas invaded Israel from Gaza, but it didn’t end there. Israel was soon forced to defend itself on six more war fronts organized by Iran.”
Iranian Threat. “Iran’s aggression, if it’s not checked, will endanger every single country in the Middle East, and many, many countries in the rest of the world, because Iran seeks to impose its radicalism well beyond the Middle East.”
Defeat Hamas. “[I]f Hamas stays in power, it will regroup, rearm, and attack Israel again and again and again, as it has vowed to do. So, Hamas has got to go. Just imagine, for those who say Hamas has to stay, it has to be part of a post-war Gaza—imagine, in a post-war situation after World War II, allowing the defeated Nazis in 1945 to rebuild Germany? It’s inconceivable.”
Defeat Hezbollah. “Israel must also defeat Hezbollah in Lebanon. Hezbollah is the quintessential terror organization in the world today. It has tentacles that span all continents. It has murdered more Americans and more Frenchmen than any group except Bin Laden. It’s murdered the citizens of many countries represented [here]. And it has attacked Israel viciously over the last 20 years.”
A Path To Historic Peace. “[W]e’re committed to removing the curse of terrorism that threatens all civilized societies. But to truly realize the blessing of a new Middle East, we must continue the path we paved with the Abraham Accords four years ago. Above all, this means achieving a historic peace agreement between Israel and Saudi Arabia .. Our two countries could cooperate on energy, water, agriculture, artificial intelligence, and many, many other fields. Such a peace, I am sure, would be a true pivot of history. It would usher in a historic reconciliation between the Arab world and Israel, between Islam and Judaism, between Mecca and Jerusalem.”
