July 14, 2024, New York, NY – The American Jewish Congress is abhorred and vehemently condemns the appalling assassination attempt on the life of former President Donald Trump during his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Our thoughts are with President Trump and his family, as well as with all those participating in the rally who were affected by this heinous act.
We express our most sincere condolences to the family of the innocent victim that was killed, and are praying for the recovery of the two other spectators that were critically injured.
Politically motivated violence is an affront to our democracy. It is imperative that all Americans, regardless of political affiliation, join together today to take action and refute this dangerous trend before it becomes normalized and metastasizes further within our society.
