[New York, NY – January 10th, 2022] The American Jewish Congress strongly applauds the launch of the bipartisan and bicameral Abraham Accords Caucus. This essential caucus will strengthen the normalization agreements achieved between Israel and multiple Arab states. We strongly support all moves in the Middle East that advance peace and reconciliation between the people of Israel and the Arab world, of which the Abraham Accords plays a central role.

We would like to especially thank Senators James Lankford (R-OK), Jacky Rosen (D-NV), Joni Ernst (R-IA) and Cory Booker (D-NJ), as well as Representatives Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA), David Trone (D-MD), Ann Wagner (R-MO), and Brad Schneider (D-IL) for their leadership in initiating this caucus. They are showing the path forward for peace and reconciliation in the region. We call on other Members of Congress to join them.

Peace has long been the overarching hope of the American Jewish community when it comes to Israel’s place in the Middle East. While full peace between Israel and the Arab states, as well as the Palestinians, has not yet been achieved, we are hopeful that the Abraham Accords will move the region one step closer to achieving that goal.
