Dear Senators,

We, the undersigned, urge you to take swift, bipartisan action to confront the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) unjust and anti-democratic prosecution of Israel’s leaders—while barbaric Hamas terrorists continue to murder and hold innocent hostages without consequence.

The ICC’s reckless disregard for true justice threatens not only America’s closest democratic ally, Israel, but the very principles that uphold freedom around the globe. We believe America can—and must—defend its allies.

The U.S. House of Representatives demonstrated leadership by passing a bill sanctioning the ICC officials that targeted Israel with a strong bipartisan majority of 243-140, including support from 42 Democrats. Unfortunately, after Senate Democrats and Republicans failed to reach a compromise on amendments, 45 Democratic Senators voted against the legislation to sanction the ICC for its blatant overreach. As a result, the bill failed to pass in the Senate and be signed into law. This failure to stand up against an institution unfairly targeting Israel sends a dangerous message at a time when global democracy is under attack.

Our lawmakers must stand for democracy, protect our allies, and deny the ICC the power to shame or intimidate legitimate nations acting in self-defense.
