New York, NY – Today marks one of the most consequential moments in the modern Middle East. The United States and Israel are acting together with clarity and resolve to neutralize the global threat posed by the Iranian regime.
This action follows years of nuclear escalation, state-sponsored terrorism, regional aggression, and the regime’s brutal repression of its own people, most recently demonstrated by the violent suppression of protests that left thousands of Iranian citizens dead.
American Jewish Congress President Daniel Rosen stated: “Today, President Trump made a decision to protect the future of America and the world and give the People of Iran their country back. The world has has waited for over 40 years to make sure the tyrannical, terror-sponsoring regime in Iran never attains a nuclear weapon. Maybe that day has come.”
This is a preventive effort with clear objectives: to dismantle Iran’s nuclear weapons program, cripple its ballistic missile capabilities, end its export of terrorism, and confront an extremist regime that has long threatened global security while denying its own people basic freedoms.
Israeli and American forces are operating side by side against the pillars of the regime’s power—an unprecedented level of coordination that reflects both the gravity of the threat and the strength of the alliance.
Our thoughts are with American service members, Israeli civilians and soldiers, and communities across the region facing danger from Iran and its proxies. We remain vigilant against threats posed by this regime, particularly those targeting Jewish communities worldwide.
Iran’s nuclear ambitions represent a global danger. Confronting them is not optional—it is necessary.
The American Jewish Congress stands firmly with the United States, with Israel, and with the Iranian people in their rightful pursuit of freedom, security, and peace.
