October 7, 2025, New York, NY – Today we mark two years since the October 7 massacre, two years since we were confronted with the savage cruelty of Hamas: the murder of 1,163 people, including men, women, children, and the elderly; the abduction of 251 people including infants from their cribs and elderly people, 48 of whom remain still in captivity; 3,300 injured, and the unspeakable crimes of sexual violence and war crimes committed in the course of that atrocity.

Two years have passed since a brutality we believed could not exist again, the greatest calamity to befall our people since the Holocaust.

Over the past two years, antisemitism around the world, including in the United States, has surged dramatically. No longer apologetic or hidden, it now stands proudly in its lies and hatred.

All of this is happening while Israel remains at war, and 48 hostages are still held by Hamas in inhumane conditions. Today marks two years of captivity.

We pray that the optimism of recent days will become reality: that the hostages will return safely and swiftly to their families, and that the war in Gaza will soon come to a conclusion.

Today, we unite in memory of those murdered on October 7. We remember the kibbutzim, towns, communities, and families destroyed, and we remind the world of the crimes committed that day, not only against the Jewish people, but against all who cherish life.

The American Jewish Congress will continue to lead the struggle to bring every hostage home, to fight global antisemitism, and to ensure the world never forgets.

Never Again is Now.
