“I was pleased to meet with President Javier Milei during #UNGA80. We had the opportunity to discuss the international situation, Argentina’s pivotal role in Latin America, the country’s financial challenges, and President Trump’s continued support for Argentina.
The American Jewish Congress strongly supports American efforts to assist Argentina, a trusted ally and important partner of the United States. Under President Milei’s leadership, Argentina has also stood as a steadfast friend of Israel at a time when support in Latin America is far from guaranteed. In a region that has become very problematic, where antisemitism and anti-Israel sentiment are on the rise, this friendship is meaningful and deeply valued.
As a board member of the Genesis Prize Foundation, I was proud to see President Milei recognized earlier this year with the 2025 Genesis Prize in Jerusalem, honoring his unwavering support for Israel. President Milei pledged to dedicate the award toward strengthening diplomatic ties between Israel and Latin American nations and advancing the fight against antisemitism across the region, a mark of true leadership.
