Gab founder Andrew Torba attacked an American Jewish Congress report that appropriately described the social media platform as a stage for antisemites, white supremacists, and extremists. Torba specifically targeted us for exposing the efforts of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) to leverage Gab‘s extremist audience to build political capital by fundraising on the platform.

Greene is not only an active user of Gab, but she has raised funds by pandering to these extremists. Just yesterday Greene thanked her Gab followers for helping her raise a staggering $3.2 million in the first three months of 2021.

As we have stated before, the intersection of unfettered extremist online activity and political power is a recipe for catastrophe. This is dangerous and therefore it must be reined in. Our detailed 90 Days of White Supremacist Radicalization report, particularly its chapter The New White Supremacist Politics, sheds new light on this disturbing phenomena, one that risks transforming our politics for the worse.

We will continue to relentlessly shine a spotlight on antisemitic and extremist threats to our democracy, values, and institutions.
