The American Jewish Congress Statement on the anti-Semitic events in Charlottesville, Virginia

Monday, August 14, 2017 - 6:25pm

In response to the horrible white-separatist march on Charlottesville, Virginia this weekend, the American Jewish Congress issued the following statement:

"The American Jewish Congress is appalled by yesterday's events in Charlottesville, Virginia. That in this day in age Neo-Nazis should feel empowered to march publicly and proudly through the streets of one of our great cities is in a damning indictment of our current political climate. We call on all of our political leaders - from both sides of the isle - to condemn these racists in the strongest possible terms, and that includes President Trump. This evil hatred must be rooted out wherever it rears its ugly head. There must be no hiding place or political cover for these thugs, skin heads and anti-semites to seek refuge. They pose a direct threat to our democracy, freedom and national way of life".
