NEW YORK—In response to California Governor Jerry Brown signing into law legislation requiring companies doing business with the state of California to also not discriminate against other sovereign states, including Israel, American Jewish Congress President Jack Rosen issued the following statement:

“The American Jewish Congress applauds California Governor Brown for standing up for Israel and ensuring that his state will not engage with those on a mission to discriminate against Israel, its existence and its people. Governor Brown makes clear that California will not do business with those affiliated with the hateful and prejudiced BDS movement. He sets an example for governors and states across the country to follow. ”
