ISRAEL’S MILITARY RESCUES A MUSLIM ISRAELI ABDUCTED BY HAMAS ON OCTOBER 7, who was detained inside a tunnel in southern Gaza for 326 days.
Kayed Farhan Al-Qadi, 52, an Israeli Arab and a Muslim, from the Bedouin community of Israel’s southern desert region, was rescued by Israeli Navy Seals who ventured deep inside a tunnel and found him alone [some Israeli media accounts suggest his captors might have been temporarily away]. Details remain classified by the Israeli military, but we have this screenshot, below, from a video of Al-Qadi meeting with the Israeli commanding officers and soldiers who rescued him. INCLUSIVE, DIVERSE ISRAEL. Whole of Israel erupted in spontaneous celebration today at Al-Qadi’s rescue. Israeli President Isaac Herzog celebrated Al-Qadi’s identity and religion as a “Muslim resident of the Bedouin Israeli community in Negev,” in a X/Twitter post where he described this as “a moment of joy for the State of Israel and Israeli society as a whole.” Here is a photo of Al-Qadi taking the phone at the hospital to speak to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
