American Jewish Congress President Jack Rosen released the following statement:
“The American Jewish Congress welcomes the remarks made by President Trump yesterday before the U.S. Congress, regarding Israel and the recent rise in anti-Semitic incidents. These have been extremely worrying times and it is important that the President and his administration take the lead in the fight against anti-Semitism, as we are pleased that the President used the high-profile forum to address the issue.
“In the final days of the Obama administration we saw relations between the United States and Israel hit a new low with the passing of the anti-Israel United Nations Security Council Resolution 2334. The invitation by President Trump to Prime Minister Netanyahu as one of his first overseas guests to the White House signaled the importance of the relationship and yesterday’s comments have restored confidence in the alliance.
“The American Jewish Congress stands ready to work with President Trump to ensure that the United States maintains its strong relationship with Israel and our Jewish community.”
